TILE DECORATION
  Tile tableaus and tile motifs

AtelierKK produces a beautiful and comprehensive range of tile tableaus and tile designs.

For us, when we speak of handmade tile tableaus and tile decorations, almost anything is possible. In any color, design and size.

Not only do we offer a choice from approximately 1,500 tableaus and motifs, we can also supply tiles and tableaus that perfectly suit the existing interior, for example according to your own personal design.

All tiles are made by hand, and to order, so each tile is one of a kind. This really gives a tiled wall a lively aspect.
  Use of tile tableaus

Tile tableaus and decorative tiles can be used to enhance and decorate tiled walls in living room, kitchen, bathroom or hall. Tile tableaus can be incorporated as part of a tile wall, or they can be mounted on an wooden panel, with or wthout a frame

  Also suitable for restauration purposes.

We can also furnish restaurations of existing tableaus and tile walls.
The Dutch tradition of handpainting tiles dates back to the 16th century. So we are building on a longstanding ceramic tradition and a rich and multifaceted experience.

All of the tableaus and motifs we deliver are painted individually and by hand.
  Tile measurements

The old Dutch tiles are delivered in the sizes 13 x 13 and 10 x 10 cm. Other tableau tiles and patterned tiles are supplied in sizes 11 x 11 and 10 x 10 cm.

Would you like to order a different size? We can deliver any size at a slight surchange. Please contact us for more information.

Every tile is painted by hand

All of our tableaus and motifs are painted individually and by hand. This is why it is also possible to make variations on the standard range. We can produce any motif you desire, on the basis of your own design.
  How tableaus are made

For each decoration, a design is drawn on non-shrink paper. Then the main lines are sketched and "pricked uit" with a pin, we call the result an 'sponge' (spons)

The spons is layed over the tile(s), after which a litle bag of charcoal is knocked against the wholes.

This shows the main lines on the tiles, after which the painter traces the lines in blue or purple glaze. Finally the colors are applied, in red, yellow, green, blue and purple.
